Here at Armadillo Sun, we've been busy designing a sumptuous new range of bean bag chairs and furniture for Spring. We always love seeing what colour trends and design influences are set to shape the world of interiors and home décor in the year ahead. Some interior design trends seem to last several years, others only for a few months. And as you’d expect, most home furnishings and decorating trends are influenced by the changing seasons and colours as well.
2019 is about wellbeing
There is an increasing focus generally in 2019 on wellbeing and self-care, and this has been reflected in Dulux’s new paint colour ranges for the year ahead, with natural, earthy tones and calming neutrals being the main theme. They’ve named the collections “Repair”, “Wholeself” and “Identity” - the message is definitely on restoring, self-reflection and making time for yourself.
Bringing the outside in
Enjoying nature and bringing the outside in is going to be an increasingly important look, and it’s easy to achieve by picking organic shapes and fabrics, and choosing a colour palette that’s soft, airy and fresh with lots of glass and mirrors to make the most of the natural light.
Achieve the look by using crittal windows as room dividers, filling a conservatory with sprawling plants, and exotic greenery, or prop some big vintage mirrors against a whitewashed wall.
Luxurious and comfortable furniture
Although the overall trend is to create organic, natural, calm spaces, that doesn’t mean that luxury has to be forgotten. Self-care is about nurture and comfort, after all. Elle Décor suggests over-sized, sumptuous velvet headboards in bedrooms, Scandinavian hygge in dining rooms and cosy throws and quilts on squishy chairs and sofas. The focus is on handmade, handcrafted, unique furniture, as well as on the multi-functional.
We're big fans of comfy, multi-functional furniture that works as well inside as outside. Our bean bag chairs and loungers are designed to be portable, waterproof and mould to your body to create cushioned, weightless support. What better way to enjoy nature and concentrate on your wellbeing than by relaxing by the pool this coming year on one of our nature-inspired designs?
